[:en]The 4 kings of Amorites: Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish and Eglon joined forces to attack Gibeon. Joshua marched up from Gilgal with his entire army with the Lord giving them assurance and encouragement. “Do not be afraid of them. I have given them into your hand. Not one of them will be able to withstand you” (v. 8) During their encounter, the sun stood still over Gibeon and the moon stopped over the valley of Aijalon (vs. 12-13). The Lord was fightting for Israel. All the five Amorite kings were killed and the southern cities were conquered.[:]
