They cast lots for fair distribution: 1st – Benjamin, 2nd – Simeon, 3rd – Zebulun, 4th – Issachar, 5th – Asher, 6th – Naphtali, 7th – Dan. After they had finished dividing the land into its alloted portion, Joshua received the last portion, a town called Timnath Serah. Joshua could have chosen the finest place in the land, but he put other first and let them take the best. “Nobody should seek his own good but the good of others” (1 Cor. 10:24) “Each of you should not look only to your own interest but also to the interest of others”(Phil. 2:4).
