[:en]Thoughts from Judges 3[:]

[:en]The Israelites lived among the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.  They intermarriaged with each other and served their gods.  So the Lord had them subjected to the king of Aram for 8 years.  When they cried out to the Lord, He raised up Othniel, Caleb’s younger brother to be their judge.  He overpowered the king of Aram and had peace for 40 years until Othniel died.  Later, the Israelites did evil again and they were defeated by the joined forces of the king of Moab, Ammoites and Amalikites.  Israel were subject to Eglon, the king of Moab for 18 years.  Later, it was Ehud, a left handed man who went to present a tribute to Eglon and killed him with a sword.  Ehud led the Israelites struck down 10k Moabites and Moab was subject to Israel for 80 years.  After Ehud, came Shamgar, who stuck down 600 Philistines with an oxgoad.[:]
