Biblical Truth: David had a defining quality for the love of his family and friends. Even though Absalom, murdered his other son Amnon, usurped the throne, shamed him publicly and mobilized the army to kill him, he still loved Absalom dearly. He instructed his commander to spare Absalom’s life and deal gently with him. And he wept bitterly for his death.
Personal Application: God loves us with a far more passion by sending His only begotten son to die for our sins and redeem us from eternal death. How do you respond to His love?
