[:en]Envy was the reason why the chief priests wanted Jesus to die.  Compromise was the reason why Pontius Pilate agreed to release Barabbas and crucify Jesus.  Have you ever committed these two terrible sins?

The soldiers mocked Jesus by putting a purple robe on him, set a crown of thorns on him, struck him on the head with a staff, spit him and led him out to crucify him.  Those who passed by also hurled insults at him.  Simon from Cyrene carried the cross for Jesus.  And at the ninth hour, Jesus cried aloud: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? (v. 34) and with a loud cry, he breathed his least (v. 37).  Joseph of Arimathea asked for Jesus’ body, wrapped in in the linen and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock.  Then he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb.  Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of God saw where Jesus was laid.[:]
