[:en]Thoughts from 2 Samuel 1[:]

[:en]An Amalekite brought the crown and band of Saul to David.  He reported to him that he was the one who killed Saul.  But his account contradicted with 1 Samuel 31:4 which recorded that Saul took his own sword and killed himself.  In his attempt to win David’s favor, he was instead being struck down.  David lamented for Saul and Jonathan.  He praised Saul as a mighty warrior and Jonathan as a loving brother.  David was a very good example of the scripture in Romans 12:14-15 :Bless those who persecute you;  bless and do not curse.  Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn”[:]
