[:en]Thoughts from 1 Samuel 23[:]

[:en]David rescued the citizens of Keilah from the invasion of Philistines.  Yet they planned to turn him and his men over to Saul.

*Do not expect everyone to appreciate and remember what you have done for them.  And are you grateful for what others have done for you?*

Jonathan was a true and loyal friend.  He went to David at Horesh and encourage him to find strength in God (vs. 15-18)

*Are you a true and loyal friend?*

The tribe of Judah was supposed to be loyal to David.  But Ziphites belonging to Judah (Joshua 15:24) reported to Saul the hiding place of David and were willing to hand him over to the king. (vs. 19-20).  At that most dangerous moment, God rescued David by the invasion of Philistines.

*In your hopeless and helpless moment, be still.  “And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Rom. 8:28)
