[:en]Thoughts from 1 Samuel 26[:]

[:en]Saul sent men to search for David at the Desert of Zip.  He was lying asleep inside the camp when David and his nephew Abishai went inside the camp.  Abishai wanted to strike Saul down but David forbid him to lay a hand on the Lord’s anointed.  They only got his spear and water jug and left.  David crossed over to the other side and talked to Saul.  Conscience stricken, Saul acknowledged that he acted like a fool and had erred greatly.  He said “I have sinned” (v. 21) but his words were insincere.[:]
