[:en]Instead of celebrating victory, David was mourning for his son. Joab had to rebuke and tell him that he had regarded his son’s life more important than all the commanders and men of his army. He urged him to go out and encourage their men.
David returned to Jerusalem and won over the hearts of the men of Judah. He blessed Barzillai for providing him during his stay in Mahanaim. (v. 32)
