[:en]David’s pride had made him count the fighting men without paying the Lord a ransom for his life at the time he is counted (Exo. 30-11-16). Later, David was conscience stricken and he confessed his sin” (v. 10). The Lord forgave him but he had to face the consequence of his sin. God gave him 3 options of choices: 1. 3 years of famine in the land 2. 3 months of fleeing from the enemies 3. 3 days of plague in the land. He chose the third and asked God for mercy. Later he bought the threshing floor from Araunah and built an altar to the Lord. The plague in Israel was stopped.
