[:en]Ish-boseth, the king proclaimed by Abner in Saul’s camp accused Abner of sleeping with Saul’s concubine. Abner was very angry so he decided to defect to David’s camp and talk peace with him. When the sons of David, Joab and Abishai knew that Abner had come to the king, they sent messengers after him to bring him back. So Abner returned to Hebron, and Joab stabbed him dead to avenge the blood of his brother Asahel. When David heard about his, he tore his clothes and put on sack cloth to mourn for Abner. Abner was buried in Hebron.[:]
