[:en]David offered to build a house for the Lord, but He would not permit him to do so.  Instead, he would raise up his offspring Solomon to be the one to build His house.  However, God promised David  with a forever throne (v. 13) and a forever kingdom (v. 16).   David asked God to fulfill His forever promise (v. 25) and forever blessings (v. 29).[:]
