[:en]The Three Parables explain God’s ministry to find the LOST.
- The Lost Sheep – Sheep are stubborn but innocent animals that usually go astray. When lost, the shepherd has to go and find them and bring back to the flock. Similarly, we are like sheep that have gone astray. We need our Lord, the Shepherd to bring us back to Him.
- The Lost Coin – The woman lost the coin out of carelessness. So she has to light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it. And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors to rejoice with her. (vs. 8-9) Similarly, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents (v. 10)
- The Lost Son – The disobedient son demanded his inheritance and wasted them. The father did not search for him. He just waited and let him come home by his own. The prodigal son realized his mistakes and learned his lessons. He returned to seek forgiveness and serve his father. Similarly, we are like the son who wandered away from God’s truth. But if we repent, God is patiently waiting and willing to forgive us and welcome us back.
