[:en]Jeroboam:
Abijah, the son of Jeroboam became ill. Although Jeroboam also worshiped other false gods, he did not consult them. Instead he chose to consult the Lord’s prophet Ahijah. However, he did not go to him personally because for fear of identifying himself publicly with the true worship of Jehovah. Instead, he instructed his wife to disguise herself when she met Ahijah. Ahijah told Jeroboam’s wife that her son will die and God will bring disaster to the house of Jeroboam because he did not keep his commands and did evil in His eyes.
Rehoboam:
Rehoboam was king in Judah. He was 41 years when he became king and reigned for 17 years in Jerusalem. He did evil in the eyes of the Lord and worshiped Aserah. During his 5th year, Egypt attacked Jerusalem, took the gold shields and carried off treasures of the royal palace. King Rehoboam replaced them with bronze shield and assigned commanders to guard them. There was continued warfare between Rehoboam and Jeroboam.[:]
