[:en]Thoughts from 2 Kings 1[:]

[:en]King Ahaziah, son of Ahab had fallen and injured himself. He sent messengers to consult Baal-Zebub – the god of Ekron to see if he can recover from this injury.  But the angel of the Lord tole Elijah to meet the messenger and told him that the king will certainly die.  When King Ahaziah knew about it, he sent a captain with 50 men to meet Elijah.  But fire fell from heaven and consumed them.  The the king sent another captain with 50 men.  The fire of God again fell from heaven and consumed them.  Then the king sent a third captain with 50 men again.  The third captain begged for mercy.  So Elijah went down and told him:  “Is it because there is not God in Israel for you to consult tat you have sent messengers to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron?  Because you have done this, you will never leave the bed you are lying on.  You will certainly die” (v. 16).  So he died according to what Elijah had spoken.  Since Ahaziah had no son, Joram succeeded him as king.[:]
