[:en]Thoughts from 2 Kings 12[:]

[:en]Joash was 7 years old when he became king and he reigned in Jerusalem for 40 years.  He repaired the temple and did what was right in the eyes of the Lord with Jehoiada as his counselor.  But when Jehoiada died, Joash led the nation back to sin.  When Hazael king of Aram attacked and captured Gath, “Joash took all the sacred objects dedicated by his fathers and the gifts he had dedicated and all the gold found in the treasuries of the temple of the Lord and royal Palace and sent them to Hazel king of Aram” (vs. 17-18).  He was assassinated by his own officials, Jozabad and Jehozabad at Beth Millo (v. 21)  His son Amaziah succeeded him as king.[:]
