Biblical Truth: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, all who follow his precepts have good understand” (Ps. 111:10). “Fear the Lord” does not mean the trembling kind of fear. This kind of fear is the showing of reverence, awe and respect. It is seen in a loving relationship between a child and his loving Father in obedience to His Word.
Personal Application: To gain wisdom, fear the Lord. To have understanding, follow His precepts. But where does wisdom come from? “If anyone of you lacks wisdom, he should ask from God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him” (James 1:5)
