[:en]Amaziah became king at 254. He reigned in Jerusalem for 29 years. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord but not wholeheartedly. He hired 100k fighting men from Israel for a hundred of silver. But the man of God came and told him that the troops from Israel must not march with them. So he dismissed the troops and sent them home. Then he led his army to fight against the Edomites. Upon returning, he brought back the gods of the people of Seir and burned sacrifices to them. The anger of the Lord burned against him. God sent a prophet to rebuke him but he refused to listen. Later, Amaziah consulted his advisers and challenged Jehoash, the king of Israel for battle. They faced each other and he was captured. Jehoash, king of Israel brought him to Jerusalem and broke down the wall of Jerusalem. He took all the gold and silver found in the temple of God. The people conspired against Amaziah, so he fled to Lachish but was killed there.[:]
