[:en]Thoughts from 2 Chronicles 16[:]

[:en]In the 36th year of Asa, Bassha, king of Israel went against Judah.  Asa took silver and gold out of the treasury of the temple and sent it to Ben Hadad, king of Aram and told him to break treaty with Bassha.  The Lord sent Hanani to tell Asa:  “Because you relied on the king of Aram and not on the Lord your God, the army of the king of Aram has  escaped from your hand” (v. 7)  Asa was angry with what Hanani said, so he put him in prison.  He also brutally oppressed some of the people.  In the 39th year of his reign, he was afflicted with a disease in his feet.  He did not seek help from God but only from the physicians.  He died in the 42st year of his reign.[:]
