[:en]Thoughts from John 17[:]

[:en]Before Jesus was arrested, he prayed for Himself, for His disciples and and for All believers:

For Himself:  Glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world (v. 5)

For His Disciples:

  1.  Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name – the name you gave me – so that they may be one as we are one (v. 11)
  2. That they may have the full measure of my joy within them (v. 13)
  3. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you to protect them from the evil one (v. 15)
  4. Sanctify them by the truth; you Word is truth (v. 17)

For All Believers:

  1. That all of them be one, just as you are in me and i am in you.  May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you you have sent me (v. 21)
  2. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they my be one as we are one (v. 22)
  3. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me (v. 23)
  4. Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given m,e because you loved me before the creation of the world (v. 24)
  5. That the love you have for one may be in them and that I myself my be in them (v. 26)
