[:en]Thoughts from John 18[:]

[:en]When Jesus had finished praying, he left with his disciples and stayed at an olive grove.  Judas with a detachment of soldiers and some officials from the chief priests and Pharisees.  They carried torches, lanterns and weapons in search of Jesus.  Jesus came out and said  it is he whom they are searching for.  He told them to let his disciples go while he remained.  Simon Peter drew a sword and struck Malchu’s servant, cutting off his right ear.  Jesus rebuked Peter and  healed the servant’s ear.

When Jesus was arrested and taken to be questioned, Peter denied Jesus three times.  Although Pilate found no basis for a charge against Jesus, but he succumbed to pressure of the crowd to release Barabbas and crucify Jesus.[:]
