[:en]Scripture Reading: Matthew 1:1-17
Biblical Truth: The Gospel of Matthew recorded the genealogy of Jesus starting with Abraham to David down to Joseph, the husband of Mary of whom Jesus was born. It fulfilled the prophecy that the Messiah would come from the line of David. Jesus’ family tree also had also showed that his ancestors were people from different backgrounds – heroes of faith, good and evil kings, warriors, shepherds, prostitute, foreigners – all of them sinners in need of a Savior.
Personal Application: God cares for each family so that he sent His son Jesus to be our Savior.
Prayer: Thank you Lord, for fulfilling your promise by sending us a Messiah.[:]
