[:en]The logic of Bildad and Zophar was:
a)- God blesses the righteous and makes the wicked suffer
b)-Job is suffering
c)-Therefore, Job is wicked.
That is similar to Satan’s approach (Job 1:6-11). Bildad and Zophar thought that comfort and wealth were evidences of holiness. But Job questioned their reasoning. He saw wicked people enjoying blessings of long life, descendants, peace, safety, riches, success and joy. And their death were quiet and easy. But the test of godly character is not success but what he thinks about God (vs. 14-15).
When we look at Jesus, he had little earthly comfort and wealth. He died a terrible death on the cross. Does it conclude that he is wicked? So beware of the false theology of prosperity gospel!
