[:en]Paul and Silas took along Timothy, whose mother was a Jew but whose father was a Greek. The Paul saw a vision of the Man of Macedonia begging them to come over, so they went to Macedonia to preach the gospel (vs. 6-10) They met a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth who was a worshiper of God. She and her household were baptized and she visited them to stay at her house (vs. 11-15). While there, Paul and Silas met a slave girl with a spirit to predict the future. She earned a great deal of money for her master by foretelling the future. She followed them and shouted “These men are servants of the Most High God who are telling you the way to be saved” (v. 27) Troubled by her shouts, Paul commanded the spirit to come out of her (v. 18) When the owners of the slave girl lost their hope of making money, they brought them to the magistrate joined by the crowd. They were stripped, beaten and imprisoned. About midnight, while Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, suddenly, a violent earthquake shook the foundation of the prison and all doors flew open and chains came loose. When the jailer woke up and saw the prison door were open, he wanted to kill himself but Paul stopped them. Then the jailer believe in Jesus Christ and all his family was saved. When daylight came, they were released.
In danger times, God will always find a way to deliver us.[:]
