[:en]Thoughts from “Light to My Path” (8/15/17)[:]

[:en]Scripture Reading:  Matthew 13:24-35

Biblical Truth:  Jesus told the disciples three parables describing the Kingdom of Heaven. – The Parable of the Weeds, The Parable of the Mustard Seed, and The Parable of the Yeasts.  The weeds represent the enemy which God allows them to grow together with the plant until the harvest time.  The Mustard Seed represents the smallest seed yet when it becomes a tree that provides shelter for the birds.  The Yeast is small yet it has the power to permeate and make an intensive influence.

Personal Application:   We struggle in situation where the evidences of the Kingdom of God is meager.  It seems evildoers triumph over the righteous.  Our congregation is small with few conversions.  People’s lives show little change and Christianity has no impact on the society around.  We need the eyes of faith to see that the Kingdom of God is indeed present and the time of coming will be here soon in all its fullness.  Meanwhile, let us work and pray for the growth and spread of the Kingdom.

Prayer:  Dear Jesus, encourage us to wait patiently and work zealously in preparation for the coming of your Kingdom.[:]
