[:en]Thoughts from “Our Daily Bread” (8/10/17)[:]

[:en]Reporter Jacob Rits was the third of 15 children who lived in the world of terrible despair.  He wrote a book “How the Other Half Lives” describing vividly the poverty in the 19th century of New York City with his own photographs painting a picture of country’s desperate existence.  Shortly after the release of his book, Theodore Roosevelt, the politician who later became a US President wrote him a note:  “I have read your book and I have come to help”

Today, there are also many who lived in poverty.  Let us respond to the needs of others from inaction to action, from words to deeds.  Let us show care and open the greater message of God’s love to those in need.[:]
