[:en]According to Robert Henkes, a portrait is not a photograph nor is it a mirror image. It not only shows the outer appearance but proves the emotional dept of the human soul. In other words, a real portrait can capture what the person is really about.
May artists have painted the portrait of Jesus. But the true portrait of Him was vividly described in Isaiah 53: “He took up our pain and bore our suffering. He was pierced for our transgression, he was crushed for our iniquities and by his wounds, we are healed”. This is a true portrait of our Savior showing his love and sorrow, anguish and pain, willingly bearing our sins.
“After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life and be satisfied” (Isaiah 53:11)[:]
