[:en]Thoughts from Psalm 107[:]

[:en]”Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love” was repeated four times in verses 8, 15,21, and 31.  How did God show his unfailing love to the people of Israel? He redeemed them from the hand of the foes (v. 2)

  1. He delivered them from their distress (v. 6)
  2. He led them to settle in a city (v. 7)
  3. He satisfied the thirsty and filled the hungry with good things (v. 899)
  4. He brought them out of darkness and broke away their chains (v. 14)
  5. He broke down the gates of bronze and cut through the bars of iron (v. 16)
  6. He healed them and rescued them from the grave (v. 20)
  7. He stilled the storm and hushed the waves (v. 29)
  8. He guide them to their desired haven (v. 30)
  9. He turned the desert into pools of water and parched ground into flowing springs (v. 35)
  10. He brought the hungry to live and founded a city for they to settle (v. 36)
  11. He made their fields yield a fruitful harvest (v. 37)
  12. He blessed the herds and increased their numbers (v. 38)
  13. He lifted the needy out of their affliction and increase their families (v. 41)

What are the consequences of people who rebelled against the Lord?

  1. The become prisoners in iron chains and sat in darkness and deepest gloom (v. 10)
  2. They were subject to bitter labor (v. 12)
  3. The loath all food and dew near the gates of death (v. 18)
  4. Their courage melted away as they went down in their peril (v. 26)
  5. They reeled and staggered like drunken men (v. 27).

But when they cried out to God, He delivered them and saved them out of their distress.

Let us give thanks to the Lord for his goodness and salvation.  Let us confess our sins and reach out to Him for help and ask for his healing and spiritual strength.  Read His word and apply its truth to your life.
