[:en]This is the first Psalm of Asaph. Asaph could not understand why those who disobeyed God seemed to be more prosperous than those who obeyed him. He looked at the wicked people around him instead of looking to God (vs. 2-3). He considered prosperity based on riches and of world’s value. No wonder he felt so discouraged when he said: “Surely in vain have I kept my heart pure, in vain have I washed my hands in innocence (v. 13). It was so oppressive for him not to understand until he entered the sanctuary of God and understood their end (vs. 16-17). He concluded with “But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge. I will tell of all your deeds” (v. 28)
Are you confused about the justice of this world? Is your mind disturbed and your heart aching? Then spend time with Him in word and prayer to get God’s perspective of everything.[:]
