[:en]The key word of this chapter is “comfort”. God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is the Father of compassion and God of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can also comfort those who are in trouble (vs. 3-4) Paul told the Corinthian believers that his distress is for their comfort and salvation. His comfort enabled their comfort to produce patience and endurance (vs. 6-7)
Paul and his men suffered hardship in Asia. They were under unbearable pressure but this happened in order to strengthen their faith in God. They set their hope that the Lord will deliver them through prayers. (vs. 8-11)[:]
