[:en]Solomon saw oppression taking place under the sun. The oppressor had power and the oppressed without any comforter (v. 1). He also saw that labor and achievements sprang from man’s envy of his neighbor (v. 4). And for a man without any son or brother, who is not content with his wealth, toils without enjoying his life is meaningless (v. 8). He advised us to have friend at our side. “Two are better than one. If one falls down, his friend can help him up. If two lie down together, they will keep warm. Though one way be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken (vs. 9-12).[:]
