[:en]Thoughts from 1 Timothy 4[:]

[:en]Teachings of Paul to Timothy:

  1.  Everything that God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer (vs. 4-5)
  2. Bring up in the truths of the faith and of the good teachings that you have followed (v. 6)
  3. Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly (v. 7)
  4. Physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come (v. 8)
  5. Put your hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men (v. 10)
  6. Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity (v. 12)
  7. Be diligent and give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress (v. 15)
  8. Watch your life and doctrine closely and persevere in them (v. 16)                                                          s
