[:en]Thoughts from Isaiah 28[:]

[:en]The people of Ephraim were addicted to drunkenness. (vs. 1-8)  They would not listen to instruction because they said they were not children. (vs. 9-10)  So God sent foreign lips and strange tongues to speak to them. (vs. 11-12)

The prosperity of Ephraim would fade like flowers. (vs. 1, 4)  They would be thrown by hailstorm and destructive wind to the ground, (v. 2) and its fruits swallowed (v. 4) because judgment was coming. (v. 6)

The Lord laid a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation in Zion.  Those who trusted in Him will never be dismayed.  He made justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb line. (vs. 16-17)  He decreed destruction against the whole land. (v. 22).  God instructed them how to handle the soil and the seeds (v. 23-26), for “The Lord Almighty is wonderful in counsel and magnificient in wisdom” (v. 29)[:]
