[:en]Thoughts from Isaiah 29[:]

[:en]Ariel (“Lion of God”) is the city of Jerusalem.  The city will be besieged by the enemy but the Lord will fight against the nation that attacked the city.  They will be like dust and chaff (v. 5) and be defeated Iv. 8)

The people could not read the scroll because they did not understand spiritual things.  “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their eyes but their hears are far from me.  Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men. (v. 13)  They would make their plans and hide from the Lord (v. 15)  “Shall the clay know more than the Potter? (v. 16)

When Jesus returns, he will establish His kingdom.  The deaf will hear the words of the scroll, the eyes of the blind will see, the humble and the needy will rejoice in the Lord.  The ruthless will vanish, the mockers will disappear, the evildoers will be cut down.  (vs. 18-21)  Those who are wayward in Spirit will gain understanding and those who complain will accept instructions. (v. 24)[:]
