[:en]Thoughts from Isaiah 40[:]

[:en]Comforts for God’s People:

  1. After God’s chastening, He will forgive and give you a new beginning (vs. 1-5) – Be grateful for His mercy.
  2. People are like grass and flower that withers and fall, but the word of God stands forever (vs. 6-8) – Be diligent to read His Word.
  3. God is the shepherd who gathers the flock in His arms, carries them close to His heart, and gently leads them on his way (vs. 9-11) – Be obedient to His guidance.
  4. God’s greatness and power are revealed in His creation.  He considers nations like a drop in the bucket.  He promised the exiles that they will return and rebuild the nation (vs. 12-17) – Be confident of His promises
  5. Nothing can compare with God and no one can be His equal (vs. 18, 25).  He has great power and mighty strength to control everything (v. 26) – Be humble to follow Him.
