[:en]Thoughts from Jeremiah 20[:]

[:en]Priest Pashur was the chief officer in the temple of the Lord.  One of his job was to punish persons who committed offenses against the temple.  Since Jeremiah prophesized the destruction of Israel, he had Jeremiah beaten and put in the stocks at the Upper Gate of Benjamin at the Lord’s temple.  When he was released next day, Jeremiah gave him a new name “Magor-Missabib” meaning “terror on every side” (vs. 1-3)  He will be a terror to himself and his friends and see them fall by the sword of their enemies.    He will go into exile to Babylon and die  there. (vs. 1-6)

Although Jeremiah made complains to the Lord, he still trusted him.  “But the Lord is with me like a mighty warrior, so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail .  They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced; their dishonor will never be forgotten” (v. 11)  Jeremiah committed his case to the Lord and prayed:  “O Lord Almighty, You, who examine the righteous and probe the heart and mind, let me see your vengeance upon them, for to you I have committed my cause (v. 12)(v. 12)

If you have been deceived, overpowered, or falsely accused, tell it to Jesus.  He will avenge for you.  Just sing to the Lord and give praise to Him.
