[:en]Thoughts from Ezekiel 18[:]

[:en]The Jews were accusing God of being unfair.  they argued that if the father did the sinning, why should their children do the suffering?  Why should he punish the children for the father’s sin?

But God does not do that.  He will forgive sinners if they will repent (vs. 23, 32).  God judges individuals regardless of what their fathers did.   “The soul who sins is the one who die” (vs. 4, 20).  You cannot inherit your father’s righteousness nor can you be punished for your father’s sin.  What you need is to get a new heart and a new spirit (v. 31) and come to Christ in faith and in grace.[:]
