[:en]Thoughts from Ezekiel 19[:]

[:en]Ezekiel wrote this lament in two images about the fate of the kings of Judah.

  1.  Lioness (vs. 1-9) – Jehoahaz died in Egypt (vs. 2-7) and Zedekiah was blinded and taken to Babylon (vs. 5-9).
  2. The vine (vs. 10-14) – The vine will be uprooted and thrown to the ground.  The east wind will strip of its fruits.  Its branches will wither and fire will consume them.  No branch is left or is fit for a ruler’s scepter – until the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of David.
