[:en]Thoughts from Hebrews 7[:]

[:en]Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High.  His name means “King of Righteousness” and “King of Peace”.  He was without father or mother, without genealogy and without beginning of day or end of life, like the son of God, he remains a priest forever. (vs. 1-3)

Jesus is like Melchizedek.  He has a permanent priesthood, and is able to save completely and forever to those who come to God through Him because He always lives to intercede for us.  He is a high priest –  holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinner, and exalted above the heavens.  He does not need to offer sacrifice day by day because He had offered for us once and for all.  (vs. 26-27)[:]
