[:en]God showed Jeremiah two baskets of figs placed in front of the temple of the Lord. One basket has very good figs while the other basket has very poor figs. The good figs represent the good exiles from Judah sent to Babylon. God will watch over them and bring them back. They will be given to know God and be His people. The bad figs represent Zedekiah, king of Judah, his officials and survivors from Jerusalem. They will become a reproach and a byword, an object of ridicule and cursing. They will be destroyed by the sword, famine and plague.[:]
