[:en]The Lord commissioned Jeremiah to tell the people to reform their ways and listen to His words. If they will not listen, their city will become like Shiloh, an object of cursing among all the nations of the earth. But as soon as Jeremiah finished delivering God’s message, the priests, prophets and all the people seized him and wanted to have him killed because he prophesized against the city. However, some officials and elders supported Jeremiah, so he was not handed over to the people to be put to death.
