[:en]Thoughts from Jeremiah 30[:]

[:en]Because Judah had sinned, God had to correct them in love.  And He would not allow their enemies to take advantage of them and go unpunished.

After their suffering and tribulation, God would restored their fortunes, rebuild her ruins, and they will have peace and security again.  “But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds” declared the Lord (v. 37).  “So you will be my people and I will be your God” (v. 22).

God also chastens us when we sin.  He sends trials as bitter medicine to bring healing to our sinful heart.  “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful.  Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it” (Heb. 12:11)  The aftermath of suffering comes song of thanksgiving and sound of rejoicing. (v. 19)[:]
