[:en]Thoughts from Jeremiah 50[:]

[:en]A nation from the north – Persia – will attack and capture Babylon. (v. 3)  God was giving words of hope to His people in captivity.  He will gather together the people of Israel and Judah and restore their land (vs. 4-5)  Their sins will be forgiven (vs. 19-20) and the Lord will take vengeance for his temple (v. 28)  A sword will be against the Babylonians – her officials and wise men, her false prophets, her warriors, her horses and chariots, all the foreigners in her ranks and her treasures. (vs. 35-37)  Babylon will be captured and the earth will tremble, its cry will resound among the nations (v. 46)[:]
