[:en]Zedekiah was 21 years old when he became king and he reigned in Jerusalem for 11 years.  He rebelled against the king of Babylon so King Nebuchadnezzar marched against Jerusalem and kept the city under siege.  King Zedekiah was captured, his eyes taken out and bound with bronze shackles.  He was taken to Babylon in prison until he died.  The temple was plundered, the walls were broken down and the city and temples were burned.  The people were deported and remained in captivity for 70 years.[:]
