Biblical Truth: The church of Sardis had a good reputation but in reality they are dying. They had heard the Word of God and received the gift of faith. Why were their deeds considered incomplete in the sight of God? Some scholar suggest that they lacked spiritual exercise. They did not struggle with persecution, heresy, pagan beliefs and practices. that’s why they need to wake up and repent.
Personal Application: How do our life rate in the vitality rate of Jesus? Are we exercising our faith and endurance muscles? We also need to wake up and obey what we have received and heard.
Prayer: Dear Lord, cloth us in righteousness and help us to live by the Spirit so that our name will be written in the Book of Life.[:]
