[:en]Thoughts from “Our Daily Bread” (11/18/17)[:]

[:en]The location of Rjukan, Norway with sheer mountains and its northern latitude makes it impossible for natural sunlight to be seen from October to March.  So the citizens installed large mirrors on the mountain side to reflect the sun rays and beam sunlight into the town square.  As the giant mirror rotates with the rising setting sun, they can see the continuous glow.

Jesus said:  “Let you light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Mat. 5:16)  “We are the light of the world (Mat. 5:14) and we are called to shine in the midst of darkness.  We must show love in the face of hatred, patience in response to trouble and peace in the moments of conflict.  Our light should be a reflection of Jesus.[:]
