[:en]Thoughts from Hosea 1[:]

[:en]The image in this book is about “marriage”.  Hosea married Gomer and she became unfaithful by becoming a harlot.  She bore him 3 children:  Jezreel meaning “God plants”, which refers to Jehu’s slaughter of his enemies at Jezreel.  Lo-Ruhamah means “no mercy” (v. 9) and the third child  is called Lo-Ammi, which means “not my people”.  The names of the 3 children depict the spiritual history of Israel.  Israel was married to Jehovah but committed spiritual adultery and turned to idols.  God will show no mercy to Israel and judge them.  But He promises hope if they will repent.[:]
