[:en]God called Jonah to go to preach at the city of Nineveh. But Jonah ran away from God and boarded at ship and sailed to Tarshish. But the Lord sent a great wind on the sea and a violent storm. The sailors were afraid and prayed to their gods. The captain found Jonah sleeping below the deck and woke him up. They agreed to cast lots to know who was responsibility for this calamity and the lot fell on Jonah. They asked Johnah’s identity and Jonah asked them to them to throw him into the water. At first, they were hesitant, but when the sea grew wilder, they took Jonah and threw him into the water and the raging sea calm down. But the Lord provided a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was inside the fish 3 days and 3 nights.
