[:en]The Edomites were brothers of Jacob’s descendants. The had pride in their hearts. (v. 3). The helped the enemy destroy Jerusalem. They were violent against Jacob and stood aloof while the strangers carried off Jacob’s wealth (v. 11). They looked down their misfortunes, calamities and disasters and rejoiced over their destruction (v. 12). God warned them that one day He will destroy them (v. 8). All the deeds they had done will be done to them (v. 15). But God will deliver Mount Zion and they would possess its inheritance ( 17). Esau will have no survivors (v. 18) while the house of Jacob will have a bright future. And the kingdom will be the Lords (v. 21)[:]
