[:en]Thoughts from “Our Daily Bread” (1/16/18)[:]

[:en]The axolotl is an endangered Mexican salamander which retains its tadpolle-like characteristics throughout its life.  It has been regarded by the writers and philosophers as a symbol of someone who fears growth.

There are also Christians who remain content with spiritual “milk”.  They refuse to grow for fear of persecution thus in danger of sliding backward from the Christlike attitudes they have already shown.  They are not ready for a solid diet of self-sacrifice.

Followers of Christ are designed to grow into spiritual maturity.  The growing process involves reading His Word, serving and worshiping God.   Let us grow in His likeness and honor Him.[:]
